"Personality counts!" This is the motto for how we select our students. Not the grade average of the school-leaving certificate decides whether an applicant can start studies of medicine or psychology, but personal criteria like, motivation, work experience and character. Numerous studies indicate that there is no apparent correlation between excellent school grades and the empathic competences required by a physician, dentist or psychologist. In other words: top school grades do not automatically reflect aptitude for these professions. This is why the focus in our selection procedures is on your individual strengths and competences.
The Brandenburg Medical School aims to establish a practice-oriented and science-based educational concept with head, heart and hand which corresponds to patients' needs and meets the challenges of future developments in medicine and psychology. We strive to convey expertise and human competences in order to prepare tomorrow's physicians and psychologists for their future professional practice and thus to ensure excellent patient care in all health-related areas. In Brandenburg and beyond.
Please note that international applicants need a C1 level German certificate as a formal requirement for a successful application, as most of our courses are taught in German.
