Sex/gender-sensitive and intersectionality-informed methods

We are delighted to invite you to a symposium presented by the AdvanceGender study group held at the Medical School Brandenburg Theodor Fontane in Brandenburg/Havel, Germany. The symposium aims to present and discuss applicable and rigorous methods that guide sex/gender-sensitive and/or intersectionality-informed health research.

Presentations include: methods to describe represenativeness of epidemiological studies; data collection tools; and statistical methods that are applicable in health monitoring and reporting.

Lectures will be followed by an interactive panel discussion on how such methods can be used further to inform research practice and policymaking. The workshop is organised by AdvanceGender, a BMBF-funded research project (https://www.mhb-fontane.de/advancegender-en.html), which aims at the development of new methods for sex/gender-sensitive research processes in population-based studies.

Speakers include: Prof. Dr. Ellen Annandale (University of York, United Kingdom), Prof. Dr. Gabriele Bolte (University of Bremen, Germany), Prof. Dr. Anne Hammarström (Karolinska Institute, Sweden), Prof. Dr. Olena Hankivsky (Simon Fraser University, Canada), and Prof. Dr. Alan White (Leeds Beckett University, United Kingdom).
