New funding opportunity for MHB medical students and graduates
ukrb clinic offers sub-loan to co-finance tuition fees
Neuruppin, 21 August 2023
The clinic of psychiatry, psychotherapy and psychosomatics at the Ruppin-Brandenburg university hospital (ukrb) offers a sub-loan program to co-finance tuition fees, targeted at students and graduates of medicine at the MHB.
Clinic director Prof. Dr. Joachim Behr (photo) underlines the intention to support students in financing their studies and to strengthen links between MHB and the university hospital. The loan offer is meant to establish a connection between studies and medical career. The loans need not be repaid if students or graduates spend one or two years of the specialist training at the clinic. The height of the loan is fixed at € 16,000 for one year further training, € 24,000 for 18 months, and € 32,000 for two years.
The offer is aimed at medical students from the 9th semester onwards and at graduates of the MHB medical curriculum. Students signing the loan agreement can opt for the clinic to cover tuition fees for the remaining semesters, whereas graduates receive loan installments in connection with their monthly paycheck.
In the context of specialist training, graduates can sign an agreement with the ukrb for the entire period of specialist training in psychiatry/psychotherapy or psychosomatic medicine/psychotherapy, irrespective of the loan volume. According to Prof. Behr, interested graduates from other disciplines may also profit from this option, as one year of advanced training at the clinic of psychiatry, psychotherapy and psychosomatics will as a rule be counted towards the respective specialization requirements.
