Students from Kenia enquire about MHB model curriculum

Three students from the University of Nairobi/Kenia currently participating in an exchange program with the Berlin Charité have visited the campus Neuruppin of the Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane (MHB). Cyrus Kimanthi, Hempstone Mondi and Anesu Nicola Mazikana are students of medicine and Public Health.

Their visit on 24 June 2026 is connected with MHB plans to establish student exchange with Global South countries. Under the heading of sustainability, MHB students are to see for themselves that apparatus-based medicine is the exception rather than the rule for the majority of the world population.

Dr. Lars Allolio-Näcke from the Dean’s Office simulated a teaching unit of problem-oriented learning (POL) for the guests. Romina Frenzel introduced them to the TRIK format (teamwork, reflection, interaction, communication). Anatomy instructor Dr. Silke Storsberg presented the anatomy department and the body donation section.

To complement the academic part of the program, Dr. Lars Allolio-Näcke took the guests on a guided tour through Neuruppin, followed by conversations with MHB students in a relaxed setting.
