Order of Merit for member of MHB sponsoring association
27 February 2023
Ivo Haase, board member of the sponsors’ association of the Brandenburg Medical School (MHB), received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in recognition of his wide-ranging honorary commitment on Monday, 27 February. Apart from his involvement in the MHB he is active in many further initiatives. In 2010 he launched a project called “Schulstart” which co-finances satchels and school materials for children of needy families. During the Corona pandemic he initiated a voucher campaign – which the MHB joined - to support regional trade, gastronomy and service providers and give a treat to particularly dedicated individuals.
Brandenburg’s prime minister Dr. Dietmar Woidke awarded the order on behalf of Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on the premises of the Potsdam chancellery. He thanked Haase for “giving a voice to all those who depend on others to represent their interests or are less visible due to age or individual life situation. Your impressive activities help to improve societal participation and strengthen democracy. I cannot say enough in praise of your outstanding dedication and your talent to recruit support for good causes. Volunteers give encouragement on site by practical example and serve as important points of contact.”
The Sponsoring Association of the Brandenburg Medical School (MHB), where Ivo Haase has been serving as a board member since 2021, promotes developments at the university in research, teaching and administration. One of the key objectives is to support student initiatives and projects and further strengthen the links between Neuruppin and the university. Prof. Günter Fleischer who chairs the MHB sponsoring association congratulates Ivo Haase on the Order of Merit as a well-deserved reward for honorary work in a variety of initiatives over many years.
