MHB van on tour again
Neuruppin, 7 October 2020
Students of the Brandenburg Medical School (MHB) will be on tour again with the MHB van on 17 and 18 October 2020. The project initiated by the MHB donors’ association and co-funded by the Brandenburg Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KVBB) will take them to the Uckermark region. Prof. Dr. Günter Fleischer who chairs the donors’ association is one of the initiators of the project which aims to build bridges between MHB students and communities in the region.
After Guben and Luckau last year, the destination of this third tour is Angermünde. Fleischer describes the idea behind the project: “Physicians and local municipalities can get first-hand information about medical education at the MHB and about future graduates. The visiting students on the other hand have the chance to learn more about the area, potential employers and doctors’ surgeries and also about living conditions in the region.” The town of Angermünde has prepared an interesting and varied programme. An evening event is scheduled where students meet doctors and local representatives in discussion rounds to get to know each other better.
The field trip will again be accompanied by a KVBB representative. MUDr./ČS Peter Noack as chairman of the KVBB board points out that today’s MHB students will be “our colleagues tomorrow. We want to recruit young physicians for outpatient health care in rural Brandenburg at an early time and show them the attractions and the wide range of working opportunities. The MHB van project is part of our manifold efforts to support future doctors.”
