MHB is a big hit. Next information day on 2 June 2018.
Neuruppin, 29 March 2018
MHB invites to the next information day on the campus Neuruppin (location: premises of the Ruppiner Kliniken) on Saturday, 2 June 2018, from 9 am to 5:30 pm. Interested individuals get comprehensive information on our programmes in medicine and psychology. Online registrations are now possible.
MHB dean Prof. Dr. Edmund Neugebauer mentions various stations and programme items on the day’s agenda. Visitors receive detailed information on the Brandenburg medical model curriculum and the Bachelor course in psychology. This includes special features of Problem Oriented Learning (POL) as a teaching and learning format, insights into the weekly schedule at the LUK (Teaching and Communication Centre), and options such as grants to finance tuition fees at MHB. The latter, so Neugebauer, aim to ensure that studies at the MHB will remain a question not so much of money but rather of personality, suitability and motivation.
Dr. Erik Alexander Hoffmann, head of communications, invites interested individuals to learn more about what to expect here, about formal and personal application requirements and the criteria applied in admission procedures: “Visitors will get an authentic impression of what makes MHB so special. In addition they can talk to professors and ask students for comments and experiences.”
Due to high demand and limited room capacity, the MHB had to close registration early last year. The university again expects increasing numbers of visitors for this year. Hoffmann: “Obviously we are delighted with the steadily growing demand for our study programmes. But about 800 visitors last year were difficult to cope with at our small university. So the upcoming event presents a number of logistical and organisational challenges.
In contrast to Open Days where visitors move freely on campus, we shall form visitor groups and ask visitors to stay with their group if possible. We have designed a varied but tightly packed programme and hope to be able to present all important aspects of MHB programmes to all interested individuals. Due to limited room capacities, most programme items will be open to potential applicants only. An exception is the part with information on finances; here applicants can be accompanied by one additional person. These companions are invited to stay on the campus premises for the rest of the programme, or alternatively explore the surroundings on rented bikes which will be available. There is a cycle track around Lake Ruppin, only two minutes away, and the historic old town of Neuruppin with a lake front, monastery church and other sights can be reached in 10 minutes.”
The next course in the MHB Bachelor programme of psychology will start on 10 October 2018; application deadline is 31 August 2018. The medical curriculum starts with each summer semester; application deadline for the next class in the Brandenburg medical model curriculum is 2 October 2018, online applications start on 1 August 2018; this date also applies for submission of application documents in writing.
Good atmosphere. Splendid weather. MHB welcomed approximately 800 visitors in 2017.
