MHB graduate Paul Siebensohn: From medical student to physician
Bernau, 18 October 2023
The Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane (MHB) has already trained approximately 100 qualified physicians. MHB graduate Paul Siebensohn typifies the professional development of many MHB students. Like many fellow students he discovered his passion for the medical field while training to become a nurse. After several years at an intensive ward in Berlin he applied for a place to study medicine at the MHB.
Having successfully finished his studies, Paul Siebensohn started working as a doctor in 2022 – in the state of Brandenburg, like about two thirds of all MHB graduates. Currently he is undergoing specialist training in anesthesiology, intensive medicine and pain therapy at one of the MHB university hospitals (Immanuel Klinikum Bernau Herzzentrum Bernau) and thus completes the circle which started with his nursing activities on the intensive ward. In the video (see above) he describes the transition from university to the world of work.
A total of 822 students are currently enrolled at the MHB, 548 of them for studies of medicine and 213 for studies of psychology. The MHB also offers a Master course in Health Services Research, and – starting with the summer term of 2024 – the new Brandenburg model curriculum in dental medicine.
