MHB among Germany’s most popular universities

Neuruppin, 27 January 2025
A student voting rates the Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane (MHB) among the best German universities with less than 5000 enrolled students. This is the result presented by the online portal StudyCheck, which offers students and interested individuals a platform to exchange personal experiences with tertiary education institutions and study programs. The MHB ranks second among the smaller universities with a score of 9.1 out of 10 and wins the StudyCheck Category Award 2025. As one of only 18 universities nationwide, the MHB is authorized to display the award seal. It is, moreover, the only university in the State of Brandenburg with a place among the top 3 in this year’s StudyCheck ranking.
MHB president Prof. Hans-Uwe Simon is highly pleased with the StudyCheck Category Award as a significant appreciation of performance and thanks all who contributed to this success: “Positive student feedback motivates us to strive for continuous improvement and further invest into the quality of education and research and an attractive academic environment. Evaluation by students offers valuable insights and helps to meet students’ needs in a targeted manner.”
The score achieved by the MHB is based on a star rating system (1 to 5 stars) combined with the recommendation rate (up to 100 percent) for the MHB only in 2024. The average rating from a total of 155 evaluations was 4.25 stars and a recommendation rate of 97 percent. Since 2016, over 230 evaluations were registered where the MHB scored 4.2 stars out of a possible maximum of 5 and was recommended by 94 percent of enrolled students and graduates.
The MHB was founded in October 2014. With currently about 1000 enrolled students, the university offers programs in Medicine, Dental Medicine, Psychology, Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, and Outcomes Research.
