How to make rural Brandenburg more attractive to physicians?
The number of general practitioners in rural areas in Brandenburg is decreasing steadily. It will be one of the most pressing tasks of the next Brandenburg government to induce doctors to practice in the country, so the rbb Inforadio.
On 10 September, the radio station sent an interview with Pascal Wittkopf, medical student at the Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane (MHB); he is the recipient of the country doctor grant which he describes as very helpful.
We also hear Dr. Karin Harre commenting on the current situation. The physician from Walsleben chairs the Brandenburg association of general practitioners and directs the competence center for advanced training in general medicine KWBB which was established among graduates of the first two cohorts of MHB medical students and is based at the MHB Institute of General Medicine.
