Health Minister Britta Müller visits MHB Skills Lab
Neuruppin, 13 November 2025
Brandenburg‘s Health Minister Britta Müller visited the Skills Lab of the Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane (MHB) in Neuruppin on 13 November. The facility serves to prepare students, medical and paramedical staff for everyday professional life. The Skills Lab teaches practical skills in addition to theoretical knowledge in a state-of-the-art training environment equipped with simulators, training dummies and medical instruments. Routine procedures from clinical practice can thus be learned and rehearsed. This combination of theory and practice builds self-confidence and constitutes optimum preparation for the job.
The Minister had conversations with various representatives of the university – MHB chancellor Dr. Gerrit Fleige, MHB vice president Prof. Irene Hinterseher, Prof. Thomas Stamm as MHB dean of studies, Nora Schiller, who is in charge of the MHB Skills Lab, and its medical director Jannis Schwanemann – and the administrator of the district Ostprignitz-Ruppin, Ralf Reinhardt.
Minister Britta Müller underlined the need for well-trained and motivated young medical and paramedical staff for efficient healthcare provision specifically in rural areas and spoke of a great demand for qualified medical professionals. She was pleased to note that many MHB graduates decide to stay in the region.
