Second-hand working clothes for MHB medical students
MHB students are invited to come to the Neuruppin campus/building D on Tuesday, 1 October, to get free-of-charge working clothes for the oncoming semester. Coats, tunics and trousers will be handed out from rooms 129/130 between 11 am and 1 pm. The goods on offer are second-life working clothes, that is, clothes that have been used and disposed of but are still in good shape and perfectly alright for further use.
Medical student Angelina Fabian, currently in her 11th semester, initiated the project several years ago when she procured the disposed and cleaned garments from Sitex, a textile service provider, and personally sorted them out and prepared them for distribution. In collaboration with the MHB sustainability committee and Sitex, she went on to organize this sustainability project for the benefit of her fellow students. She has announced the arrival of another roller container full of working clothes. She cannot promise a full set to everybody, due to different sizes, but believes that most people will get at least one usable garment.
Students may keep the clothes and have to do the laundering themselves. They can return or exchange them at the start of each semester. All parties involved in this project of giving a second chance to working clothes significantly contribute to environmental protection.
