BRANDSTUVE meets at Viadrina European University
Frankfurt/Oder, 20 January 2020
Last Friday, MHB students Wilhelm Hesler, Julia Brandner (both psychology) and Julian Bauer (medicine) attended the Brandenburg meeting of student representatives hosted by the Viadrina European University in Frankfurt/Oder. The event – twice per semester – aims to link up student representations and coordinates student interests in the state of Brandenburg.
Major topics were anti-discrimination and anti-racism strategies at universities, improved quality of teaching and learning, sustainability education and also the abolition of tuition fees.
Julian Bauer welcomed the BRANDSTUVE meeting as a unique forum for MHB students to address MHB-specific problems and search for potential solutions in a joint effort: “We benefit a lot from the long-term experience of established student bodies.”
BRANDSTUVE will meet the new Brandenburg Minister for Science, Research, and Cultural Affairs Manja Schüle (Social Democrats) for a debate on current issues of tertiary education politics on 24 February 2020.
