Apprenticeships with a perspective
Brandenburg Medical School offers opportunities to start a career
Neuruppin, 18 January 2026
Vocational training at the Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane (MHB) gives applicants a chance of working close to practice and assuming responsibility as a meaningful contribution to society. Starting 15 August 2026, the university again offers trainee positions for young people who want to begin a professional life immediately after school.
Brandenburg an der Havel is the training site for future dental assistants (all genders) and Neuruppin for office administrators (all genders). The MHB combines the advantages of a modern university context with good perspectives and attractive framework conditions such as fair remuneration, flexible hours, 28 days’ vacation entitlement and additional free days on Christmas and New Year. Teaching material will be provided free of charge, chances of being taken over after training are good, and a premium of € 400 can be expected after successful completion.
The 3-year training as an office administrator covers a wide range of topics. Trainees acquire a sound basis of knowledge in office organization, staff management, accounting, communication and project management. They also become familiar with special
features of university administration and the health sector. The idea, so Franziska Teschke from the office for curricular and student affairs, is to educate young specialists who address the challenges of today’s dynamic work environments with confidence.
Special insights are also waiting for prospective dental assistants. The location of their practical training is the new University Dental Clinic, where the trainees will be involved in clinical routines right from the start, supervised by an experienced team of dentists and dental assistants. The new dental clinic along the River Havel is scheduled to be a further training site. Theoretical instruction will take place at the secondary college “Johanna Just” in Potsdam.
An outstanding feature of apprenticeships at the MHB is the combination of modern equipment, individual supervision and social relevance. As a university with a strong regional focus, the MHB offers not only education to students of medicine, dental medicine and psychology but also professional training with a future. Prospective dental assistants in particular profit from state-of-the-art technologies and from the daily experience of helping others and thus making significant contributions to healthcare provision in Brandenburg.
