MHB switches to online teaching
Neuruppin, 24 November 2021
Dear MHB students and teachers,
against the background of the current increasingly dramatic pandemic situation, the decision was taken in consultation with the examination committees – reluctantly but in good conscience - to return to predominantly online instruction in psychology starting Saturday, 27 November 2021, and in medicine starting Monday, 29 November 2021.
All teaching events in psychology (tutorials, TRIK, POL, lectures, seminars) including the first semester in the Bachelor programme will change to online instruction; face-to-face instruction will be offered only on clinic days up to the end of the winter semester.
These are the changes for students of medicine:
- Virtual instruction: IDS, lecture and natural science tutorials, seminars and POL. TRIK will be online for semesters 1 and 2; individual solutions for students of all other semesters will be developed and communicated.
- Face-to-face instruction: ÜDT and internships. The current hygiene concept (access only for vaccinated, recovered or tested persons) continues to be valid.
- SkillsLab (tutorials) and Sono tutorials can be conducted as face-to-face events; existing hygiene concepts apply.
- The science internships for 6th-semester students take place at the respective institutions, governed by hygiene concepts on site. The concluding event requires the online format.
- The internship period on the ward for 8th-semester students will also take place at the respective clinics, governed by hygiene concepts on site.
- Individual and course-specific solutions for studium fundamentale courses will be developed and communicated.
- OSCE examinations at the end of the semester take place online.
- Further information will soon be provided on: GÄDH Winterschool, MiBi week in Senftenberg, excursions to Bernau in January/February.
The above measures have been decided in consideration of the fact that Corona is going to stay with us for some time. Our university lives from close personal contact between students and teachers, and most of us perceive face-to-face instruction as more pleasing, more efficient, more motivating compared to online teaching. But current developments in the pandemic leave us no alternative but to impose restrictions and contribute to containing and fighting the pandemic and protecting ourselves and contact persons. We all have gained some positive experience with online instruction from the past three semesters. Let us build upon this experience and do our best to proactively shape the remaining weeks of the winter term and make them as rewarding as possible.
Get safely through the winter, stay healthy and take care!
