20th Symposium “Tumor Immunology meets Oncology” (TIMO) in Brandenburg
Brandenburg an der Havel, 11 May 2026
The town hall Brandenburg hosts a three-day event for which researchers from the Brandenburg Medical School and the Medical Institute of Halle-Wittenberg University meet with experts from all over the world to exchange latest medical findings. Following an initiative of Prof. Barbara Seliger (director, Institute of Translational Immunology at the Faculty of Health Sciences on the Brandenburg campus of the Brandenburg Medical School) in 2004, the symposium has become a regular meeting. This year’s agenda has 40 informative presentations of exciting latest findings from tumor immunology and oncology.
In his opening address on Friday, Mayor Daniel Keip said the town is proud to welcome medical experts who break new ground in holistic research for the benefit of healthcare in general. Brandenburg an der Havel, so Keip, has developed into a modern location of health and science of supraregional importance over the past years, with the local university hospital and its history of more than 125 years as a crucial constant.
