18th Berlin-Brandenburg Ultrasound Congress as online event
Neuruppin, 3 May 2021
The 18th Berlin-Brandenburg Ultrasound Congress took place in collaboration with the Ultrasound Academy of the DEGUM (German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine) last Friday. Initially scheduled to be held in Warnemünde, the meeting had to be re-organized as an online event due to the Corona pandemic.
According to conference chair Prof. Dieter Nürnberg, number and scope of workshops and seminars were reduced compared to face-to-face meetings in recent years and condensed to a one-day schedule. This time, two thematic sessions addressed the diagnosis of liver disorders and thorax sonography respectively. Prof. Nürnberg thanked the presenters provided by the DEGUM, familiar and also new speakers, for their contributions. His special thanks went to MHB students who act as tutors in ultrasound instruction for having organized an excellent conference programme.
A total of approximately 120 ultrasound tutors and interested individuals from all over Germany attended the meeting. The DEGUM plans a face-to-face congress in Warnemünde for early in summer next year. With more than 11,000 members the German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine is one of the largest ultrasound associations worldwide.
